The Family Burger

A burger big enough to feed the whole family? That’s right! At your next BBQ, grill a burger for everyone to share!

  • Line 9-inch round baking pan with plastic wrap or aluminum foil.
  • Press into pan, shape into a giant patty!
  • Lift to remove patty.
  • Place patty on grill over medium, ash-covered coals
  • Or preheated gas grill at medium heat.
  • Bring to 160°F (medium doneness)
  • At about 14 minutes, flip once! The flip: slide lightly greased baking sheet under the burger…hold another baking sheet over the burger. Now… flip!
  • Want it cheesy? Add during the last minute of cooking.
  • Remove with a clean baking sheet.
  • Place burger on bottom half of 8-inch bread loaf or focaccia.
  • Top, cover, cut into wedges, and serve!

Ingredients

2 lbs. Ground beef chuck
1 tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
Bottom half of 8” bread loaf or focaccia
Optional: any cheese of choice!
